Talkingship Episode # 5 (V5.2)
WHAT DOES V5.2 MEAN? Well, Jitterbug accidentally erased the original episode 5 off of our blog! So we had to repost it, and so we called it V5.2. It's the same show as the one we posted a week ago, it just feels new!!
Get on the ship! This is what we’re calling our very first OFFICIAL episode of Talkingship! We start out with a new sketch, then go into our normal segments: Soundsystem, Video Vault, Playing With Ourselves, and News From the Mainland. And who could forget the beer?!? And please forgive the cricket in the background through this! I promise I’ll kill it before the next show! Oh, and one last thing, count the number of times Jitterbug calls Nerves, “Son.”
Beer of the Day = Pete’s Wicked Rally Cap
Beer Fact of the Week = Nerves forgot to get a Beer Fact this week! Listen to him try to cover his ass with a LAME Beer Fact of the Week!
Soundsystem = It’s a special edition of Soundsystem! Nerves and Jitterbug decide that they both want to talk about Mike Patton! So this segment turns into an ode to Mike Patton! Mr. Bungle (The Girls of Porn, Goodbye Sober Day). Faith No More (Ashes to Ashes, Gentle Art of Making Enemies).
Either / Or : What music do you take to a fight?
Video Vault = Jitterbug wants to start an 80’s comedy marathon! Help us pick 5 80’s comedies that we should watch! Also, Nerves gets called out for maligning Kim Catrall! Nerves just watched Saw 3, and we talk about the advent of the Torture Porn movie fad.
Either / Or : Eddie Murphy OR Dave Chapelle OR Richard Pryor
News From the Mainland = A guy gets pepper sprayed for laughing too hard; $6K Watermelons; Shatner hates bedding trekkies; Viagra chocolate.
Playing With Ourselves = Jitterbug loves the Xbox 360 Arcade’s Castle Crashers. Nerves expresses his LOVE of all things Rockband!
Either / Or : Xbox 360’s Arcade OR The Wii Marketplace
Closing Song = Buford : Side By Side

Sorry for erasing everyone's messages! Please re-post your top 5 comedies of the 80's!!

Wow...what can I possibly add to this...oh, but I will try! A professional talk show for sure and as good as any I have ever heard. I imagine it is very hard for some of your listeners to have to remain mute when they would love nothing better than to jump into your conversations.
What about phone in's? Give your listeners a phone number and have them call in with a comment and somehow have them become part of the pod cast. Everyone loves to hear themselves! Is it possible? You could devote a section to the show where you encourage your listeners to phone in while you are on the air (or whatever you are on).
I know even I wanted to join in the conversation.
You speak of movies and songs, etc. and what you liked about them. How about watching movies that your elderly Mother recommends and you can make fun of them. Here is one that I recently watched and though I absolutely loved it, you would undoubtedly make fun of it....CAPOTE...oh, and another one watched just last night...HAUNTED HIGHWAY...now, that was the weirdest movie I have ever seen. Watch it, make fun of it and enjoy! Yep...two suggestions....phone-ins and CAPOTE and HAUNTED HIGHWAY!
You two are perfect together and Aaron...you really should have continued your education in communication at the great University here in even greater Hammond. That is all, but I look forward to "watching" all your other shows. I am just worn out from laughing so hard at this one that I will save the rest for tomorrow.
I can't wait.
Bye
Jennifer Wise
By the way, I received an email from Phill Weiland from the Hammond Times thanking me for thanking him for his column on hypermiling...(driving 5 miles below the speed limit to save gas)
He had written about how everyone tells him he is number one as they pass him on the street. Get it?
