Talkingship Episode # 8
Jitterbug and Nerves do the best skit yet to start the show!  They were both laughing their ass off afterwards.  Nerves is the captain, so who knows where we’re going to end up.
Beer of the Day = Samuel Adam’s Oktoberfest.
Beer Fact = It’s the Good and the Bad session of the Beer fact.  We learn about beer and pancreatic cancer.  Then we learn why alcoholics are skinny.
Soundsystem = Nerves gives us one of his Top Five bands of all times: The Butthole Surfers!  He’s mad crazy for Gibby!!  He picks Two Parter off Rembrandt Pussyhorse for his song of the week.  Jitterbug makes us listen to two songs!  He wants people to recognize a song from a commercial from his band of the week, which is The New Pornographer’s The Bleeding Heart Show off of Twin Cinema.  Then he gives us his real song of the week, Mutiny I Promise You off of Challengers.  We also plug Audiophiling.com and explain what it’s all about.  And we make sure to give some props to our friends over at Onekindradio.com and paddyrock.com.
Either / Or : Fleetwood Mac OR The Eagles and Nerves throws the world off its axis with his pick.
News From the Mainland = Jitterbug makes us go serious for a second with some news about Russia and Venezuela and the resurgence of the Cold War.  Then we talk about how global warming affects Polar Bears.  Airplane security hates the Transformers.  An Illuminati soldier fails, and when the police catch him he gives the single greatest quote that he could ever give in that circumstance. The panty burglar gets busted.  Then we get serious with petroleum jelly, monkey peaches, butts, and church windows.  Finally, what does your musical taste say about you?
Video Vault = We discuss our upcoming, 80’s comedy marathon.  Nerves loves Grandma’s Boy and Jitterbug says, “Eh, it’s okay.”  Jitterbug talks about some new DVD releases and he sets the world back on its axis with his awesome, ground-shaking, life-altering, bowling ball-set secret pick!
Either / Or : Nerves tries to gives us a COREY’S Either / Or with a Goonies OR The Lost Boys.  Then Nerves loses $20 on a bet.
Playing With Ourselves = We talk a little about our COD 4 session last week and throw some shout outs to a few of the boys.  Nerves wants to talk about Gear of War 2.
Either / Or : Table Top Centipede OR Pacman.
Closing Song = The Righs’ I Hope I Never See You Again.

As for the new Battle of the Bands on AudioPhiling.com, kick ass idea guys, Fleetwood Mac or Eagles though?... it's like picking the better smelling piece of crap. So my pick would have to be.... Nebraska Butt Bandit is the greatest Band name of all time! And speaking of butt bandits, it seems like most people agree with Nerves that The Eagles are crap. No love for Desperado? Hotel California? In the City? Sigh...

    Here tis:

    THREE O'CLOCK HIGH
    REAL GENIUS
    HEATHERS
    JOHNNY DANGEROUSLY
    NATIONAL LAMPOON'S VACATION

Though not my Top 5, but some are not ones that most people would pick off the top of their head. Real Genius, however, is the movie I could watch nonstop and never be tired of.

    Word.

No problem! Thanks for giving us permission to use it! It's a great song!!! Keep trying to download the show. And you can also download it through I-Tunes if you use that. It seems to be pretty reliable going through them, and it also gives you the chance to leave a kick-ass review for us!! I hear that's pretty fun!!
